应如何正确发菩提心？（中英开示）

　　这里教大家作为佛子菩萨面对无边众生应如何正确发心。见众生受苦，要默默合十，心中言：

　　Here are the proper ways for all Buddha Dharma practitioners to correctly initiate the Bodhicitta when facing the boundless sentient beings.Seeing all living beings suffering, we should pray whole-heartedly as follows:

　　愿将你往昔无明所造一切恶业苦果都由我来代受，愿把我三世修行而获全部功德福报皆让你去享用。愿将众生往昔无明所造一切恶业苦果都由我来代受。愿把我三世修行而获全部功德福报皆让众生去享用

　　"May I take all the evil and bitter fruits of your past ignorance;May you enjoy all the merits and virtues I have gained in my practice ever and forever;May all the evil deeds and bitter fruits of the past ignorance of all living beings be taken over by me.May all the merits and virtues of my practice be enjoyed by all sentient beings ever and forever

　　如此反复，日日年年。是菩萨行愿。这包括面对四生九有一切众生，近者包括父母至亲，包括邻里、路人，包括遇见猫、狗、蚂蚁、蝇、蛆等等。这就是自他交换的基本修法。

　　We should keep doing like this day by day, year after year, for this is exactly Bodhisattvas oath. We should keep doing like this when facing all living beings, including our parents, relatives, neighbors, passers-by, even cats, dogs, ants, flies, maggots and so on. This is the basic practice of exchanging oneself with others.

　　佛子应常做此修，自然就会了知轮回实有，了知三界苦；自会发起真实的出离心、菩提心，愿荷担如来家业，广度众生出三界，证菩提。自然就会用心参透清净心，出世法，离妄归真。如此者，也必成佛道。

　　Buddha Dharma practitioners should keep such practice all the time. By doing this, we shall naturally realize the real existence of Samsara, and clearly understand the suffering of all sentient beings. Consequently, we shall spontaneously initiate the heart of transcendence and Bodhicitta, and sincerely wish to carry on Buddhas undertakings by saving all living beings out of Samsara, and helping them attaining the ultimate Buddhahood. At the same time, we shall naturally set our hearts to purifying our minds and achieving thorough comprehension what our original nature is like and what the Law of Transcending Samsara really means. Such practice will help us renunciate all the illusory worldly desires and return to the original self.

　　In this way, we shall definitely attain the ultimate Buddhahood.
